Ordinary Things by Beth

Here’s where you will find words and stories to help you remember who you are and why you were created. Maybe you aren’t completely sure. Perhaps you feel your life is too messy. Too ordinary. Not good enough. It’s possible you need to be reminded that God’s grace is for you. He came in the midst of our messes to redeem and save. Because the ordinary is extraordinary in Christ.

Hi there! I'm Beth.

I’m a writer who believes the ordinary becomes extraordinary in Christ.

I used to think I’d have life figured out by the time I grew up. More than six decades in, I can confidently say: I do not. But I know this much: I’m a saved-by-grace sinner. And that’s what matters most.

I’ve spent much of my life surrounded by books and words—as a teacher, writer, editor, and lifelong reader. I’ve written devotions, Bible studies, articles, and Sunday school lessons, and these days I’m also writing fiction.

Here, I write about faith, books, home, creativity, and the ordinary things that make up an ordinary life—because I’m increasingly convinced those small things matter.

I’m a wife, mom, reader, knitter, and Midwest girl who is still learning to pay attention to what God is doing right in front of me.

I’m so glad you’re here.
