On Fridays, I love to reflect about good things from my week. Things that I’ve learned or remembered or treasured: habits, books, quotes, tips. Sometimes silly, sometimes serious. Maybe they are already your good things? Or maybe they’ll inspire you. Either way, let’s chat about them! Here are this week’s Good Things.
5 Good Things from My Week
- The power of my fork. This past week I caught a few of Dr. Mark Hyman’s online videos about our broken brains. I’ve practiced some of these healthy habits already, but I was super impressed by the professional perspective from the traditional medical community. Dr. Hyman is the medical director at Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Functional Medicine. Great quote: “Your fork, the most powerful tool to transform your health and change the world.”
- A good thing I forget to do all the time? Turn things inside out before laundering. I’ve noticed pilling on some of my favorite clothes, and I hunted online for ideas. Great tips here.
- One good-thing habit I’m adding? Intentionally moving when I’m working at my desk for long periods of time. I’m really late to the Fitbit party, but I just splurged on one that will remind me to move every so often. The reason I got one to begin with is to watch my heart rate when I exercise. The moving reminders are a bonus good thing.
- I love musicals. They are one of my good things. I recently saw The Greatest Showman and loved every foot-tapping moment. I know it’s good when I leave the theater inspired to sing aloud even though I can’t sing at all. If you’re a musical lover, check it out.
- And always the good thing that can never be taken from me:
For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.
Psalm 107:9
May you cherish all of your good things.
